April is shaping up to be an exciting time for yacht enthusiasts and nautical lifestyle seekers as Asia’s leading yacht and luxury show, the Singapore Yacht Show (SYS), returns to our sunny island. This year’s edition of the SYS, set to happen from 12 to 15 April, will see a vast array of the world’s most prestigious superyachts calling port at the award-winning ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove. International boating brands are also gearing up to unveil new models and some of these impressive debuts are up to 30m long, prevailing your average superyacht. A striking example is the 40 Open Sunreef Power, a unique beamy vessel with an impressive speed potential of over 60kts. It has generous storage space with hulls that have enough volume for a spacious bathroom and a utility room, with the open bow section that can be used for a cabin with a double bed. Designed by renowned studio Nauta Design, the Lagoon 50 flaunts an elegant and modern finish with personalization options—two picks of interior woodwork and many choices of upholstery and accessories available. It was also produced by expert catamaran designers, French studio Van Pethegem Lauriot Prevost, which specializes in multihull design for prestigious races, using a shorter boom for easier handling and a mainsail with high aspect ratio.
