Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Cruise Line’s sixteenth and largest ship, has set off on her first Alaska season this June. In September, the ship will move to the Caribbean via a short season cruising the Mexican Riviera out of Los Angeles.
Custom-built for the spectacular, this 2,043-stateroom, 167,800 gross-ton vessel, boasts many firsts at sea for the global market. The ship’s exciting new features will join the brand’s signature elements of freedom and flexibility that Norwegian is known for across the globe.
Here are some activities cruise goers can indulge in on board:
1) Thrills And Spills
For the first time aboard a North American-based cruise ship, Bliss features a two level electric-car competitive race track, the longest at sea at nearly 1,000 feet and an open-air laser tag course themed as an abandoned space station. Guests can also relax at the ship’s expansive pool and sundeck featuring two spacious pools and six infinity hot tubs that scale the side of the ship. The ship’s Aqua Park also includes two multi-story waterslides, with a translucent section that provides stunning ocean views as guests twist and turn to the finish line.
2) Broadway Spectacular
Bringing the best of Broadway to sea, guests can enjoy the 2006 Tony Award® winner for “Best Musical,” Jersey Boys, hitting the high seas for its first production at sea after 11 record-breaking years on Broadway; and a completely new and original show created by Tony Award®-winning director and choreographer Warren Carlyle, headlining on the ship’s main stage, the Bliss Theater. Norwegian Bliss will also feature a new comedy club and nightlife venue, the Alibi, featuring sets from today’s most popular stand-up comedians, then transforming into a chic nightclub later in the evening.
3) Gastronomy Delight
Foodies and cocktail connoisseurs will be able to dine, sip and savor to their heart’s delight with a breadth of dining and bar options aboard Norwegian Bliss, including signature Norwegian favorites as well as exclusive new concepts that will debut aboard the line’s newest ship such as dessert shop Coco’s, the all-American Texas Smokehouse, Q, upscale Mexican restaurant Los Lobos and Starbucks.
Norwegian Bliss’ custom design will offer guests the freedom and flexibility to create their ideal experience at sea, with a wide variety of accommodations including luxurious suites in The Haven by Norwegian®. Norwegian Bliss will also feature two observation lounges, including one exclusive to guests of The Haven®, perfect for whale watching in Alaska or taking in sunsets in the Caribbean. Continuing its tradition of featuring original artwork on its ship’s hulls, Norwegian Cruise Line has commissioned Wyland, one of the world’s premier marine life artists, to design the hull art for Norwegian Bliss; the artwork will feature images of humpback whales, found in every ocean around the world. The ship’s hull will serve as a large canvas to showcase the importance of conservation and ocean preservation.
